IMPORTANT STEPS TO ACHIEVING THE ULTIMATE AIRBRUSH TAN
To ensure that you get the very best results from your Blush airbrush tanning
experience, we recommend that you follow these simple steps:
24 HOURS BEFORE TANNING
Exfoliate your entire body.
Exfoliating prior to receiving your spray tan will help to eliminate the top
layers of dry and dead skin. It's important when exfoliating that you pay particular
attention to rough skin areas like knees, ankles, heels and the tops of your
feet as dry areas tend to absorb tanning solution faster, which can result
in an uneven looking tan.
Hair Removal
Shave or wax at least 24 hours prior to receiving your Airbrush Tan.
THE DAY OF YOUR SPRAY TAN
Avoid
On the day of your airbrush tan we recommend that you avoid
the use of deodorants, moisturizers, perfume and make-up
if possible as these may inhibit the effectiveness of the
tanning solution.
Clothing:
It's important that you have suitable tanning attire to
wear after your appointment. We recommend that you
have dark, loose fitting clothes and flip-flops to put
on after your tanning application. Some minor rub off can
occur after your spray tan. The minor rub off will easily
wash out of most fabrics, some lighter colored materials,
including leather, may stain.
When getting your airbrush spray tan you may wear as little
as you like or a full swim suit. Most people wear just
a thong but this is a personal choice. All airbrush tan
technicians are fully trained to operate in a discreet
manner and fully respect client confidentially. If you
would like to wear something more than just a thong during
the application of your tan then we suggest a bikini for
women and dark shorts or swimming trunks for men.
Application
Your spray tan will be professionally applied in a private
room by a certified aesthetician. The process only takes
about 10 minutes. You will immediately notice a completely
natural looking tan that will continue to develop over
the next 5 to 12 hours. The application itself is quick
and easy and certainly nothing to get anxious about.
Important Advise
Sensitive Skin: If you feel you have highly sensitive
skin, or you may have a reaction to the tanning solution,
we recommend a small localized test spray to check your
skin compatibility before having your this service preformed.
Sunscreen: The airbrush tanning solutions DO NOT contain
any sunscreen. Please make sure you apply sunscreen to
prevent sunburn when outdoors.
AFTER TANNING
Now that your airbrush tan has been applied, you can expect
it to last for up to 5 to 7 days depending upon your
skin type and providing you follow the instructions below.
Once your tan is applied you must leave it to dry completely.
Your technician will ensure that your application is dry
before you leave.
Avoid
For the best possible results, you should avoid the following
for at least 5 hours after initial application:
- Water (This includes hand washing, showering, swimming
or elements such as rain/snow)
- Physical Exercise/Sweating
- Tight Fitting Clothing
Showering
Showering the following morning is the best option. When
showering, do not be concerned if some of the initial
bronzer washes off, this is part of the tanning process
and your skin will continue to tan.
When showering we recommend that you use a gentle body
wash. Do not use traditional bar soaps for they can be
abrasive, which in turn reduces the lifespan of your tan.
EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR TAN
Summer’s Secret
If you want to prolong the life of your airbrush tan, we
highly recommend a product called Summers Secret. Summer's
Secret is an ultra smooth hydrating moisturizer that enhances
and builds a natural glowing tan over a few days. It compliments
your airbrush tan by acting as a tan extender. This product
can be purchased at Blush Hair Salon & Make-Up Studio.
Moisturizer
In place of Summers Secret we recommend using a heavy moisturizer
daily. It will not help to build a tan but it aid in the
hydration of your skin thus extending the life of your
tan.
Avoid
Finally, if you want your airbrush tan to last longer then
you should avoid:
- Long baths
- Hot Jacuzzis
- Extended swimming sessions
- Any product that is designed to exfoliate your skin
